PocTell® CGF extraction tubes/additive-free tubes are sterilized by irradiation, sterile and heat-free. They are suitable for collecting venous blood samples and extracting CGF growth factors after centrifugation. They are often used in implantology, periodontal surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and cosmetology.
Basic Composition
PocTell® tubes are typically made of glass or PET (polyethylene terephthalate). Their simplicity is their strength-no chemical additives, clot activators, or gels interfere with the blood's natural behavior. The tube's interior is inert, ensuring the sample remains unaltered until clotting occurs.
How They Work
When blood is drawn into a no-additive tube:
- Natural Clotting: Blood clots via the intrinsic coagulation pathway (platelets aggregate, fibrin forms).
- Serum Separation: After clotting (usually 30–60 minutes), centrifugation separates the clear, yellowish serum (liquid portion) from the clot (cells and fibrin).
Clinical Applications
Routine Chemistry Panels
For baseline blood work, no-additive tubes provide "clean" serum for comprehensive metabolic panels (glucose, electrolytes, proteins).
Infectious Disease Testing
Used to detect antibodies (e.g., HIV, hepatitis) where additives might disrupt immune markers.
Drug Monitoring
For medications sensitive to chemical interference (e.g., some antibiotics), these tubes avoid skewing results.
