How the HBsAg Test Kit works
Sample Collection
A small blood sample is collected, often from a finger prick or a small blood draw.

Reagent Reaction

Interpretation of Results
Results are generally available within 10-20 minutes. A positive result indicates that HBsAg is detected in the blood sample, while a negative result suggests that no HBsAg is present.
Allow the test device, specimen, buffer, and/or controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15-30°C) prior to testing.
》Remove the test device from the sealed foil pouch and use it as soon as possible. Best results will be obtained if the assay is performed immediately after opening the foil pouch.
》For Serum or Plasma specimen: Hold the dropper vertically, transfer 3 drops of serum or plasma (approximately 75 μL) to the specimen well (S) of test device and then start the timer. See illustration below. For Venipuncture Whole Blood specimen:
Hold the dropper vertically, transfer 3 drops of venipuncture whole blood (approximately 75 μL) to the specimen well (S) of test device, then add 1 drop of buffer (approximately 40 μL) and start the timer. See illustration below.
For Fingerstick Whole Blood specimen:
• To use a capillary tube: Fill the capillary tube, transfer approximately 75 μL of fingerstick whole blood specimen to the specimen well (S) of test device, then add 1 drop of buffer (approximately 40 μL) and start the timer. See illustration below.
• To use hanging drop: Allow 3 hanging drops of fingerstick whole blood specimen (approximately 75 μL) to the specimen well (S) of test device, then add 1 drop of buffer (approximately 40 μL) and start the timer. See illustration below.
》Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. The result should be read at 15 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 30 minutes.
Reading The Test Results
Positive
Both purplish read test band and purplish read control band appear on the membrane. The lower the antibody concentration, the weaker the test band.
Negative
Only the purplish red control band appears on the membrane. The absence of a test band indicates a negative result.
Invalid
There should always be a purplish red control band in the control region regardless of test result. If control band is not seen, the test is considered invalid. Repeat the test using a new test device.
》Do not use the test kit beyond the expiration date.
》Do not use the kit if the pouch is punctured or not well sealed.
》For in vitro use only. Do not swallow.
》All specimens from the body should be treated as potentially infectious.
》Contaminated blood may give incorrect test results.
》Discard after first use. The test cannot be used more than once.
DISPOSAL: The used device has the risk of infection. Please dispose all used contents properly.
